National Lean Systems Manager (Pooraka)

With a focus on LEAN manufacturing, this is an opportunity for a passionate individual to join our National team based at Pooraka. Reporting to the National Manufacturing Manager, you will be responsible for the management of our Boral Production System (BPS) development throughout the Roofing and Masonry East division. Working with Plant Managers in four states you will assist in the implementation and enhancement of the BPS LEAN systems. 

Main duties will include:

  • Develop and maintain national programs for the RME plants to continue strengthening the LEAN action plan;
  • Assist site management in the development of Lean KPI’s and ongoing completion of improvement plans;
  • Conduct Lean audits to ensure that businesses comply with Boral BPS framework;
  • Assist in the review of business OEE and development of site improvement plans to meet business needs and maintain on-going improvement;
  • Manage or participate in improvement activities including SMED, TPM, Error Proofing etc;
  • Maintain the internal and external training and development plans for RME employees;
  • Manage, Coordinate and review the national and local SOP structure for all departments in RME.

To be successful in this position you must have the following skills, experience and competencies:

  • Formal qualification in LEAN Competitive Manufacturing or similar;
  • Trade or engineering degree or business degree would be an advantage;
  • Proven analytical, problem solving and process management skills;
  • Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution, negotiation and communication skills;
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise competing deadlines;
  • Strong customer focus;
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships;
  • Personal drive and results-orientation;
  • Persistence in developing optimal outcomes and continuous improvement; and
  • High initiative and ability to work unsupervised.
