Boral Quarries (VIC) is looking for a dedicated and experienced Quarry Manager to join our high performance team. Based in Melbourne and reporting to the Metro Operations Manager, in this role you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a key Quarry operation. The successful candidate will possess a strong safety focus, experience in day to day quarry management and the challenges of running a quarry, including production targets, safety records, quality control and customer liaison.

To be considered for this role, you will ideally have the following qualifications, experience and attributes:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing or supervising a quarry or mining operation;
  • A strong focus on OH&S and improving safety culture on site;
  • Strong people skills and communication skills;
  • Ability to manage all HR, training and staff development needs on site;
  • Drill & Blast and Load & Haul experience;
  • A well-developed understanding of plant and equipment maintenance practices;
  • Demonstrated ability to keep up to date with relevant Australian Standards and product specifications;
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships with all people, and to lead and influence people; and
  • Have strong personal drive and be results-orientated.

To be successful in the role, you will be an experienced leader within the quarry/mining industry with evidence of strong project management skills. Relevant tertiary qualifications, such as a Diploma in Surface Extractions will be highly regarded; otherwise you must be willing to complete this qualification.
