Concrite Pty Limited is a leading supplier of pre-mixed concrete, servicing the building industry in Metropolitan Sydney, in the NSW country centres of Mittagong, Moss Vale, Picton and Yass, and in the A.C.T.

The Role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Logistics professional to join our business as the Logistics Manager.  Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for inbound and outbound logistics for the Concrite business.  You will provide support and expert advice to both the Production Managers and Operations Manager in regard to the safe and efficient management of the company concrete delivery fleet. The role will also be responsible for the management of Concrite’s contractor fleet.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Actively contribute  to building and maintaining a safe working environment with the goal of zero harm
  • Continuously  improve and innovate Concrite’s fleet to satisfy customer requirements and expectations
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure that the Logistics function is compliant with all relevant legislation including WHS and CoR.
  • Ensure that fleet and manning numbers are correct and work effectively to meet forecasted requirements
  • Manage expenditure to achieve operational and cost budgets
  • Develop and monitor budgets to reduce the maintenance costs of assets, while also managing ‘Whole of Life’ costs
  • Manage the fleet maintenance system to ensure the reliability and longevity of assets and compliance with Chain of Responsibility  
  • Manage procurement and disposal of truck and mixer fleet
  • Manage mini, sub-contractor and inbound logistic fleets
  • Oversee the engagement of Concrite Drivers; including recruitment, onboarding, ongoing training and development, employee relations matter  
  • Represent Concrite at various CCAA and Boral transport committees

About you:

The successful candidate will have relevant transport industry experience, with exposure to heavy vehicles and concrete mixers desirable.  You will have tertiary qualifications in Business Management, Logistics, Engineering or other relevant discipline. The ideal candidate will also possess the following capabilities and skills:
