Based at our North Ryde office, the Credit Officer is responsible for taking full responsibility for their own ledger including day to day management of a portfolio of Customers, and escalating issues as appropriate to the Credit Team Leader. The Credit Officer will ensure effective management of Boral’s credit risk and cash flow, ensuring timely and accurate collections and allocations. The role will extend to identify and participating in continuous improvements in credit processes, procedures, and credit systems, with an emphasis on good risk management and process improvement. In order to achieve success in this role, it is important to have a strong ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Your day will involve:
Collection of overdue monies, including maintaining collection records, account reconciliation, daily payment allocation, review of credit limits and actioning of accounts that exceed credit limits
Follow up and resolution of customer queries and issues as they arise, ensuring escalation as appropriate.
Masterfile Maintenance including, activation and de-activation of accounts and updating customer data.
Providing accurate and timely reports on the credit performance and exposure to the business as requested.
Identify and report on credit related issues in a timely fashion for process improvement.
Identify and report process gaps and participate in continuous improvement opportunities.
Ensure that standard operating procedures and work instructions are maintained and up to date.
What are we looking for?
Relevant qualifications in the Credit or accounting Field e.g. Certificate IV or Diploma in Accounting and / or Credit desirable
Proven ability and demonstrated experience in credit collections.
Demonstrated experience in developing effective working relationships with internal and external customers including Senior Management across multiple business units with differing needs.
Demonstrated experience in working as part of a collaborative and supportive team.
In-depth experience in Oracle/SAP Financial Modules and/or equivalent systems.
Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Highly developed written communication and oral presentation skills
Proficient in MS Excel and Word skills
Strong customer focus and commitment to delivering outstanding customer service
Time management skills, personal drive and results orientation
