Boral Drill & Blast seeks a Drill Fitter who will be responsible for the planning and hands-on maintenance of Boral’s Sandvik and Epiroc drill rigs to ensure a high level of reliability and performance. You will either already be an experienced Drill Fitter, or have qualification and background as a Mobile Plant fitter with an eagerness to specialise in drill rigs.

Your day will involve:
- Source and procure parts and consumables in order to undertake regular services and defect repairs.
- Conduct regular inspections and carry out preventative maintenance on drilling equipment to ensure optimal operational efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and repair drilling equipment, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Maintain an inventory of spare parts and components, ensuring minimum downtime.
- Seek and identify opportunities to reduce spare parts costs through identification and sourcing from original parts manufacturers.
- Adhere to all workplace safety policies, regulations, and practices.
- Work closely with other team members to ensure efficient operations and maintenance processes.
- Maintain inventory of drilling consumables to support drilling operations.
- Accurately document maintenance and repair work in line with company reporting procedures.
- Be trained to provide annual leave relief and back-up blast hole drilling services.
- Support other parts of the Boral business with mobile maintenance support as necessary.
What are we looking for?
- Minimum of 3 years as a Drill Fitter or in a similar position within the mining/quarrying industry.
- Recognised certification in Mechanical Fitting or Diesel Fitting.
- Proven experience in troubleshooting and repairing drilling or similar equipment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Physically fit and able to work in challenging environments and conditions.
- A commitment to upholding the highest safety standards.
- Independent self-directed worker with strong organisational skills
