Reporting to the Category Manager Fleet, Fixed and Mobile Plant, the Category Lead will create, lead and deploy national and regional spend and supplier management strategies for our Fixed Plant Category. This includes supporting purchase, hire and maintenance activities across Boral’s national fixed plant network of Concrete, Quarries, Cement and Asphalt plants. The Category Lead will build and present category plans which clearly articulate value benefit, change management effort, resource requirement and alignment of priorities with business stakeholders in order to drive performance in this high value and important category.

Your day will involve:

  • Develop and lead sourcing projects and tender processes for the category, ensuring Boral is receiving the best value from the supply market and that supply risks are managed.
  • Interface broadly across the Boral business with key internal stakeholders and suppliers, this role engages across the end to end procurement process, advising on procurement risks, compliance and internal controls on spend portfolio.
  • Lead, manage and embed change following tender and award processes, engaging with and influencing all key stakeholders to deliver a successful outcome.

What are we looking for?

  • Experienced and commercially astute procurement professional with relevant category management experience within a large and complex business.
  • Strong analytical skills and competency with analytical tools to interpret information and be able to provide insights/recommendations.
  • Exposure from the construction or manufacturing sectors will be highly regarded but is not essential.
