We are actively seeking a Mechanical / Maintenance Engineer to join our SA Quarries and Concrete team. Reporting to the Asset Manager (Fixed & HME) – SA Quarries & Concrete, the role is to provide support for planning of maintenance activities, as well as manage improvement projects on fixed plant assets for the SA Quarries & Concrete business.

In this role, you will be recognised for your ability to identify process improvements as well as implement strategies based upon your interface with the Stonyfell Workshop maintenance team and site managers to ensure projects and initiatives are aligned with long term goals and operational requirements.

This position is primarily based at our Stonyfell Workshop office in Adelaide and will require travelling to Boral sites across South Australia.

Your day will involve:

  • Providing engineering support and supervision for fixed plant upgrades and projects with a focus on mechanical and structural design
  • Management of sub-contractors to ensure that all work is carried out safely and to a high standard.
  • Conducting problem solving and support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations where appropriate to understand critical failures and determine actions for improvement.
  • Providing engineering support as required for troubleshooting, repairs and during planned maintenance days and shutdowns. 
  • Ensuring all maintenance tasks comply with the Boral Safety requirements and standards.
  • Designing and implementing engineering controls for identified hazards at sites.
  • Engineering review and assisting with document control for manuals and mechanical drawings.
  • Take ownership on technical analysis of critical asset reports – Crushers, screens, conveyors.  Interpret vibration and oil sample result

What are we looking for?

  • Degree qualifications in Engineering Mechanical or related discipline.
  • Ability to manage, influence and build rapport with stakeholders from a variety of functions to effectively manage projects.
  • Able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a clear thinking and practical approach, together with a strong achievement focus.
  • Proficiency in CAD software.
