Are you a third or final-year Mechanical Engineering student eager to gain hands-on experience with a leading Australian construction company? We’re looking for a passionate, forward-thinking individual to join our Operations team at De Martin & Gasparini in Chullora. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your engineering knowledge in a real-world setting while learning from experienced professionals. You will plan and control the WHS, certification, registration and other compliance requirements of all our equipment, including concrete tower booms, mobile and static concrete pumps, and other concrete placing equipment.
Your day will involve:
- Collaborating with Teams: Work alongside clients and internal teams to ensure safe and efficient equipment setup for concrete pumping operations on major construction projects.
- Supporting Compliance: Manage risk to the highest standard and assist with ensuring our equipment meets necessary safety standards, certifications, and regulations.
- Engineering Solutions: Evaluate tenders and help develop practical solutions to meet project needs, ensuring the work is completed on time and within budget.
- On-Site Support: Contribute to project sites by providing mechanical equipment support, including reviewing and maintaining standards for performance and safety.
What are we looking for?
- Mechanical Engineering Student and/or Trade Background in Plant and Equipment: You’re in your third or final year of study with a focus on mechanical engineering or a related field. Or you may have a hands-on trade background in plant & equipment.
- Practical Problem Solver: You’re hands-on and excited to apply your engineering knowledge to solve real-world challenges.
- Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with CAD and BIM software is an advantage, but we’re more than happy to help you develop these skills if you’re still building experience.
- Strong Communication Skills: You can work well in teams and communicate clearly, whether you’re talking to clients or collaborating with colleagues on-site.
