Reporting to the Head of Workers Compensation and Wellbeing, the Workers Compensation and Wellbeing Advisor is responsible for the efficient and effective claims & injury management for all Boral business units in SA. Ensuring that the accountability for workers compensation is visible at Division and Group level, this important role provides line management and supervisor coaching as required to assist in the injury management process, ensuring a consistent approach to injury management across all Boral business units. The role extends to ensuring that Boral is meeting its SA Self Insurance Workers Compensation License requirements and will involve liaison with senior business managers to ensure delivery of training programs and implementation of Boral’s Injury Management Program.

Your day will involve:

  • Identify and implement strategies to reduce the cost of workers compensation risk to Boral by managing a portfolio of active claims, providing a high level of strategic advice to the business in understanding and managing work related injury
  • Participation in claim review meetings both internally and with external claims manager
  • Develop and implement RTW plans in consultation with relevant stakeholders
  • Maintain and manage confidential case notes in accordance with relevant legislation and privacy principles
  • Assist with the implementation of Boral’s pre-employment medical assessment process
  • Assist in ensuring Boral is meeting requirements for its SA workers compensation self-insurance licence
  • Oversee management of litigated claims in consultation with Claims Manager and Head of Workers Compensation & Wellbeing
  • Develop processes to improve the way Boral manages early intervention and rehabilitation to ensure the safe and durable return to work outcomes

What are we looking for?

  • An Allied Health Qualification and relevant SA Accredited Return to Work Co-ordinator
  • Certificate IV Training and Assessment
  • Demonstrated proven ability and experience in a Claims Management, Injury Management or Rehabilitation Role
  • Extensive knowledge and ability in the application of relevant Workers Compensation Legislation for SA, ideally in a self-insured environment
  • Exposure to the application of effective claims & injury management
  • Exposure and experience in managing litigated claims
