Your next opportunity:  

We are looking for an experienced Plant Operator to join our Asphalt Specialty Products Manufacturing team in Seven Hills Sydney. Primary responsibilities will be packaging of Asphalt products, loading of trucks & deliveries, record keeping of both computer and manual entries as well as on site quality assurance. Loader and forklift operations will also be a requirement of this role. Operators will also participate in safety initiatives including pre-starts, toolboxes and incident reporting.

Your day will involve:

  • Enforcing safe operations of the traffic management and implementing safety controls on site
  • Loading of trucks with Loader and Forklift
  • Packaging of Asphalt products, and incorporating safe manual handling techniques for heavy items
  • The safe and efficient operation of Asphalt packaging plant
  • Day-to-day administration of the Plant including prestarts, daily operator summary log and stock on hand count;
  • Work closely with the dispatch team and allocations;
  • General yard and plant housekeeping and maintenance, along with the safe operation of a front-end loader and forklift.
  • Docketing of sales orders and processing orders via phone or email if and when required
  • Completing accurate stock counting and be willing to complete monthly stock takes and entries via Command Apex

What we are looking for:

  • Relevant batching and/or asphalt industry experience or warehousing experience ;
  • A strong commitment to safety and the environment along with a superior customer focus;
  • FEL ticket (desirable)
  • Forklift ticket
  • General Construction White Card
  • Other tickets that would benefit are; Skid steer, EWP, Confined Space,
  • Strong organisational skills including the ability to multitask and prioritise competing deadlines;
  • Strong work ethic with the desire to learn and progress your career which will include administrative duties and computer use (basic to moderate computer knowledge desirable).
  • Reporting of any safety/environment hazards, near misses or incidents.
