As our business continues to expand, we present an exciting opportunity for an accomplished Foreman to join our Road Surfacing team in Cairns.

In this role, you will take on the pivotal responsibility of managing and delivering project performance, ensuring excellence in safety, operations, and commercial aspects within the Asphalt Contracting Projects across the region.

Your role will also involve coaching and developing the crew to guarantee the delivery of project works with industry-leading service.

Your day will involve:

• Engage employees daily across Contracting work sites
• Provide leadership advisory, coaching, and mentoring support to foster a consistent approach in developing high-performing Contracting crews
• Exemplify a high standard of integrity and ethics, instilling the same expectations throughout the contracting crews
• Ensure timely escalation to contracting supervisor and project manager, addressing variations, claims, and disputes in accordance with contractual terms and conditions
• Review and monitor comprehensive documentation and record-keeping for all works across contracting crews, including costing and quality assurance information submitted to head office for processing

What are we looking for?

• Hold a General Construction Induction Card (White card) and a valid Driver's License
• Demonstrated track record of improving safety performance
• Possess construction experience
• Competence in the fields of leadership, coaching and mentoring
• Proven record of achieving stretched targets
• In-depth understanding of Continuous Improvement principles and methodology
• Strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance, adhering to both Boral OH&S policies and regulatory requirements
• Flexibility to work varying hours, meeting operational requirements, including weekends, night shifts, and possible extended periods away from the base
