Your next opportunity:

An opportunity exists for a Team Leader to lead and support the services and facilities of the Boral Cement Plant based in Maldon. The main focus of this position is to be accountable for the coordination and performance of the day-to-day operation of the facility and support production shift at Maldon.

You will play an important role in driving the (longer term) performance and work quality of your team to deliver business objectives. This role may also see you have site responsibility after hours.

This is a permanent full time position working Monday – Friday with the opportunity for overtime.

Reporting to the Production Manager, your day will involve:

  • Ultimate responsibility for the safe performance of your team to deliver business objectives;
  • Responsibility for the longer term planning and scheduling of work and projects in an efficient and cost effective way;
  • Manage site services including sewage, waste, drainage, roads, walkways, gardens, sumps & sumps pumps, in an environmentally responsible manner.
  • Contractor management support the facility.
  • Work in conjunction with the production and engineering teams to support daily operations.
  • Ensuring teams have the skills, training and resources to do their job effectively;
  • Ensuring teams are safely undertaking work in accordance with any business efficiency/improvement processes introduced by the Company;
  • Manage workforce planning and employee rosters for the team;
  • Responsible for injury management and liaison;
  • Responsible for authority to work plant controller and relevant high risk permits
  • Responsible for quotation and control of relevant costs.

What we are looking for:

  • Demonstrated ability to ensure the ongoing success of your team;
  • Proven Cement Plant operating experience would be advantageous;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills obtained via formal training and/or vocational development;
  • Ability to lead team meetings and compile communications;
  • Advanced experience in all aspects of operations sufficient to enable the you to act as a representative of management after hours;
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships with all people, and to lead and influence people;
  • High level of attention to detail;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance databases and purchasing systems.
  • Good technological abilities including MS Office
