We’re on the hunt for an experienced Maintenance Fitter to become the newest member of our mechanical team! In this pivotal role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring the smooth operation of our fixed-plant equipment by delivering top-notch preventative and corrective maintenance services. Bring your expertise and passion for machinery and help us keep our operations running at peak performance!
Your Day Will Involve:
- Take charge of scheduled maintenance needs by breaking down issues before they escalate, ensuring smooth operations at all times.
- Keep our plant and tools in top-notch condition! Ensure all equipment, including electrical tools, is safely maintained and tagged for reliability.
- Design and implement creative strategies to boost both equipment and process reliability, transforming potential hiccups into seamless performance.
- Champion proactive maintenance by conducting thorough investigations that enhance plant reliability and functionality, making sure we operate at peak efficiency.
- Maintain comprehensive maintenance logbooks for all plant and equipment, ensuring every detail is documented for optimum operation.
- Lead the charge in developing, implementing, and promoting Boral’s Safety Management System, including permits, Take 5’s, and hazard reporting to create a culture of safety.
What Are We Looking For?
- Relevant mechanical trade qualifications or a Cert III in Engineering Mechanical Trade (expertise in Welding or Boiler making being highly desirable)
- Proven hands-on experience in quarries, mining, or civil construction, bringing real-world knowledge to the table.
- A strong safety mindset to achieve Zero Harm, with a track record of developing effective Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS).
- Ability to forge effective working relationships with fellow employees and contractors, fostering a team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated capability in boosting operational efficiencies and productivity, ensuring our processes are as smooth as possible.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and general database management, equipping you to handle data with ease.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet our goals and maintain operational flow.
