Based in Baulkham Hills, we are looking for a responsible and experienced individual to join our team as a Laboratory Manager.  Working independently this role reports to the Laboratory Services Manager and involves undertaking tasks in relation to leading a diverse and experienced team of employees to deliver in an industry leading laboratory.

Your day will involve:

• Actively promote and lead safe work practices and the adherence to relevant OH&S management
• Develop and enhance the laboratory's capabilities, efficiency, and explore opportunities for new services to boost revenue and profitability.
• Manage and mentor a dedicated team of laboratory staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Ensure all laboratory activities comply with NATA accreditation requirements
• P&L responsibility for revenue, profitability and cost control for the laboratory

• A strong set of leadership skills

• Good financial acumen and experience in running a P&L
• Nata signatory for a range on construction material tests
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in science or another relevant discipline e.g. Civil, Chemical or Materials - (desirable but not essential).
• Well-developed skills and understanding of computer systems for monitoring and reporting of data (especially Qest, Word, Excel etc).
• Good time management and organisational skills
• An ability to cope with competing priorities and deadlines
• Process improvement (Lean / Six Sigma) training
• Knowledge of Australian and Industry standards
• Good communication and organizational skills
