Your next opportunity:

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager within the Assets and Capital Projects team, the Construction Project Manager will lead the onsite delivery of works and act as Boral’s primary representative during the construction of key sites within the Silo Upgrade Program. You will manage contractors, coordinate site activities and ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, within budget and to quality standards. Working closely with the Capital Projects team, you will also support key project management activities including planning, coordination of technical inputs and progress reporting.

This is a hands-on, delivery focused role where you will be responsible for managing all construction works on site, overseeing contractors and subcontractors, enforcing strict safety standards, managing high-risk and permit-to-work systems, leading toolbox talks and engaging with operational stakeholders to minimise disruption to production. The role is suited to someone comfortable operating in a live operational environment and balancing construction execution with project management tasks to achieve safe and successful project outcomes.

Your day will involve:

  • Leading the site-based delivery of an individual project within the Silo Upgrade Program from pre-construction through mobilisation, construction, commissioning and handover, acting as Boral’s primary site-based representative.
  • Planning and coordinating multi-disciplinary construction activities to achieve schedule, cost and quality outcomes.
  • Managing and coordinating contractors and subcontractors on site, including supervision of daily activities, issue resolution, and enforcement of contractual and safety requirements.
  • Supporting project delivery through schedule coordination, cost and variation management, risk and quality control.
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with site operations, contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders to enable effective delivery.
  • Leading construction and commissioning activities, coordinating inspections, testing, defect rectifications and handover documentation.
  • Supporting procurement and contract administration activities for construction work packages, including input to scopes of work packages, tender evaluations and contractor management through to completion.

What are we looking for?

  • Proven experience leading on-site construction delivery for capital projects, preferably in industrial, materials handling or heavy manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated capability managing contractors and subcontractors, including safety, quality, schedule and site performance.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated industry experience.
  • Strong understanding of construction execution within live operational or brownfield environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with operations, contractors and internal project teams.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and scopes, and work effectively with designers, engineers and suppliers to resolve site issues.
  • Experience supporting project delivery activities, including schedule coordination, cost and variation management, and risk control (desirable).

What’s on offer?

  • Competitive salary package reflective of your skills and experience.
  • Opportunity to lead the on-site delivery of key projects within a high-profile national capital program.
  • Strong support from an experienced Capital Projects team, including mentoring from senior leaders and subject matter experts.
  • Broaden your horizons through exposure to our integrated operations.
  • Genuine career progression opportunities within a leading Australian construction materials business.
  • We are Australian-owned and operated.
  • Access to a range of employee benefits including additional leave purchase schemes.
