  Your day will involve   

  • Responsible for safely and efficiently operating fixed and/or mobile plant and equipment to support production and delivery operations
  • Accurate batching of orders to specified mix designs and utilising the docket dispatch system
  • Front-end loader & bobcat operation (subject to operational requirements and segment needs)
  • Control Room operations
  • Day-to-day administration of the plant including stock control of raw materials
  • General yard and plant housekeeping and maintenance

Role Design

  • Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
  • Working Hours:
    • Standard operating hours: Monday to Friday, 5:30 am to 6:00 pm (subject to operational requirements and segment needs)
    • Ordinary hours: 7.6 hours per day, 38 hours per week
    • Some Boral sites operate 24 hours/7 days
    • Overtime available, including weekends, based on business demand

Most operational roles are covered under a relevant Enterprise Agreement (EA). Pay is based on a combination of experience, with the opportunity to earn overtime, allowances, Rostered Days Off (RDOs), and Saturday rates.

Yes. A current and valid Driver’s Licence (DL) is required for most operational roles. Specific vehicle roles may require additional licence classes (e.g., HR, HC, MC).

New Plant Operators go through a structured onboarding process that includes:

  • Working with a senior Plant Operator or Batcher In-Charge
  • Buddy shifts with an experienced driver
  • Classroom-style induction covering safety, systems, and customer service
  • Verification of Competency (VoC) will be provided, if required, for certain machinery or equipment-based roles
