Your next Opportunity:

Reporting to the Area Manager, we are seeking a Road Surfacing Contracting Supervisor to join our team in Seven Hills.

Your primary focus in this role will be to oversee the efficient and effective daily operations of asphalt crews within Boral’s asphalt business.

You will be accountable for delivering a number of key activities in a mature business, successfully leading and mentoring work groups and delivering high quality projects safely and efficiently which supports the continued growth of the business and the teams within your remit.

Your day will involve:

  • Responsible for scoping out works prior to commencement and ensuring correct resourcing is in place to deliver works safely and efficiently
  • Responsible for ensuring that the works are handed over to the site foreman/leading hand in a proper manner
  • Ensure all day-to-day operational targets are achieved including financial, volume and quality.
  • Establish and maintain strategic customer and supplier relationships
  • Plan, set, monitor and measure employee performance against individual goals and performance indicators
  • Evaluate team effectiveness and coach team members to achieve superior business performance.
  • Act quickly and decisively to remove detrimental/ineffective performance standards and poor performance budget processes
  • Generate, manage, monitor and report on budget performance and performance against set targets

What are we looking for?

  • 5+ years' experience with knowledge of asphalt manufacturing, asphalt contracting and / or sprayed seal contracting or another relevant field
  • Customer engagement and negotiating at a site level including contractors, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Contractual and technical knowledge with experience in operating a systems-based approach to the role
  • Ability to collaborate with wide-ranging stakeholders both internal and external
