The Depot Manager maintains a cost-effective and compliant NSW Depot structure, while planning and coordinating rail, road, and sea transport for both raw materials and finished products. This critical role works closely with the NSW Logistics Manager to ensure reliable, on-time service that meets contractual obligations, optimizes costs, and maximizes fleet utilization across all NSW Bulk Depots. Based at Clyde, this role will require some regional travel and will be offered a Tool of Trade vehicle to support this.

Your day will involve:

  • Site and facility management of NSW Bulk Depots including assisting in the achievement of desired profit contribution levels by controlling operational costs all depots.
  • Supervise, coach and mentor a team of 6 direct reports as well as subcontractors
  • Assist in the Carrier Compliance to the Chain of Responsibility Act.
  • Seek opportunities to provide cost reductions and PEP savings in line with forecasts and review and identify compressible and non-compressible costs.
  • Review operations and provide feedback on improvements (equipment, resourcing or location) to reduce costs in meeting service targets.

What are we looking for?

  • Transport/supply chain/logistics/distribution industry experience or background.
  • Sound knowledge of and experience in transport and logistics related services and systems.
  • Previous intermodal rail experience is essential.
  • Previous experience leading a team across multiple locations.
  • Ability to identify impact of decisions and actions on business plans.
  • Any prior experience with project management or overseeing small capital projects will be highly regarded
  • Customer and supplier management focus.
