The Logistics Manager - Cement is responsible for overseeing the QLD Supply Chain Operations for the Boral Cement business and is responsible for delivering excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders by ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient management of a fleet comprising company drivers, subcontractors, and hauliers. The role ensures timely delivery of cementitious products to customers while maintaining safety standards and full regulatory compliance for on-road activities and depot operations. This role will be based 3 days in Milton and 2 days in Wacol/Port of Brisbane. 

Your day will involve:

  • Ensure operations safety on Boral and Customer sites as well as CoR compliance
  • Provide leadership and support to a team of 4 direct reports including Logistics Supervisors and Depot Managers to assist them in safely managing their fleet to an optimum level, while also leading people processes such as succession planning, assisting with recruitment and mentoring
  • Assist and support Customer Service and Allocations teams to meet customer DIFOT and Grade of Service objectives
  • Compliance with capital and maintenance programs, ensuring maintenance of depot capital assets
  • Cost management including reviewing cost and facilitating cost reduction projects
  • Financial reporting/Management with Asset Manager and Finance
  • Cost management, contract negotiations and management
  • Managing HR/IR issues with support from functional leads

What are we looking for?

  • Transport/supply chain/logistics industry and fleet management background
  • Leadership skills with a proven track record of people and fleet management
  • Track record in cost & financial management, business improvement and project management
  • Suitable tertiary qualifications in supply chain, road logistics or intermodal transport
  • Understanding of relevant heavy vehicles and equipment including CoR
  • Strong customer focus and commercially savvy
  • Proven experience in working collaboratively in an industrially-diverse environment with the ability to build trust and confidence and drive outcomes
