Management Accountant

We are seeking a capable and energetic Management Accountant to join our high performing NSW Quarry Finance Team based in North Ryde. The Management Accountant is responsible for providing accurate financial insights, analysis, and reporting to support strategic decision-making within the organisation.
This role is accountable for the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports, month end processes and analysing variances through to offering recommendations to improve financial performance. The Management Accountant will collaborate closely with the Quarry business and work across other business segments and functions as part of our Operating Model.
Your day will involve:

Business Partnering

Cost Accounting and Inventory Reporting
- Monitor and Manage Cost Drivers through strong P&L management.
- Inventory Management and processes to ensure control of inventory and Stock holdings.

Month end and associated reconciliation processes
- Month end journals to support the month end close process working with site leads and Commercial Finance Managers.
- Variance analysis to support the Monthly Business Review process and effective cost management.
- Balance sheet reconciliations with a view of improving working capital through debtors management, creditor initiatives and inventory management.

Financial reporting and Analysis
- Dashboards and reporting insights and performance improvement.
- Budgeting and forecasting.
- Capital Management and associated reporting.

Risk Management and Compliance
- Year-end reporting.
- Addressing audit queries from internal and external audit teams.
What we are looking for:
- Commercially focused and experienced finance professional, ideally with prior exposure to partnering with operational stakeholders.
- Bachelor degree (or higher) in Commerce, Business, Finance or Economics, with CA/CPA qualifications or working towards preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in a financial accounting role, ideally in construction industry.
- Superior Microsoft Excel and Word skills
