About the Role 

We are seeking a driven Project Engineer to join our Vic Quarries team, to deliver on improvement projects around reliability, upgrades and process improvement initiatives. You will be based at Port Melbourne with regular travel to quarry sites across Victoria. 

Reporting to the Asset Manager, this hands-on role requires an engineering professional to take the lead on ongoing and upcoming works on both fixed and mobile assets within our quarries.

Your day will involve:

  • Undertake investigations and Root Cause Analysis of production interruptions. 
  • Analyse OEE and production data to identify improvement opportunities. 
  • Develop asset care strategies and implement Maximo EAM roll out of them. 
  • Effectively manage and coordinate plant improvement projects, throughout the Quarries business. 
  • Carry out scoping, design, costing and planning for improvement projects and modern-day equivalent replacements of existing machinery. 
  • Manage projects to ensure budgets, deadlines and Safety and Operational outcomes are achieved. 
  • On site supervision of specific projects, including coordination of production, Operational staff, suppliers and contractors to execute projects. 
  • Full compliance with Boral Safety Absolutes and legislative requirements, and improving OH&S and environmental performance on the construction site. 

What we are looking for:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline 
  • Knowledge and understanding of project management methodology 
  • Previous experience in heavy industry, minerals and metals processing or similar 
  • Proficient use of MS Office
  • Strong stakeholder collaboration and management skills 
  • Ability to prioritise competing deadlines  
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills 
  • Have a strong safety focus in all tasks
