Your next opportunity:

We’re seeking a Mechanical Projects Engineer to deliver minor capital projects, support major maintenance planning, and drive asset reliability improvements across our NSW quarry operations.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong mechanical engineering and maintenance background who enjoys variety, autonomy and hands‑on project delivery. You’ll play a key role in improving asset performance, managing contractors, and contributing to Boral’s evolving asset management function.

No two days (or projects) will be the same — this is a role where you’ll see the direct impact of your work across our quarry network.

Your day will involve:

  • Delivering minor CAPEX projects from scoping through to execution
  • Supporting major maintenance planning and shutdown preparation
  • Applying maintenance engineering and reliability improvement principles to optimise equipment and plant performance
  • Developing and presenting CAPEX business cases to support investment decisions
  • Managing contractors to ensure safe, compliant and efficient project execution
  • Conducting risk assessments and contributing to a strong safety and risk management culture
  • Working closely with plant managers, supervisors, engineering teams and technical specialists in continually improving and sustaining asset performance
  • Applying practical understanding of quarry equipment such as crushers, screens, conveyors and mobile plant

What we are looking for:

  • Mechanical engineering qualifications or equivalent industry experience
  • Proven background in maintenance engineering, reliability or mechanical projects
  • Experience in project management delivering capital or upgrade projects (minor CAPEX)
  • Strong understanding of quarry, mining or heavy industrial equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to support major maintenance planning activities
  • Contractor management experience
  • Strong safety mindset with applied risk management capability

Why join the Boral team:

  • Permanent opportunity with Tool of Trade Vehicle
  • Part of a refreshed, modernised Asset Management function
  • Investment in new equipment and ongoing operational improvements
  • Competitive salary package plus company benefits
  • Be part of a team that values safety, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • The chance to make a real impact in Building Something Great with Boral
  • Equal Opportunity Employer
