Boral Asphalt supplies high quality surfacing solutions for a wide range of Australian road and construction projects - from local streets to highly complex infrastructure including freeways, highways and airport runways. The Boral Asphalt business includes asphalt manufacturing sites, ‘spray seal’ depots, and an asphalt contracting service.
This asphalt production plant's capacity is around 180 tonnes of asphalt per hour and is one of Boral's key manufacturing facilities in NSW. Projects have included surfacing of the V8 Supercars circuit in the Newcastle CBD in 2017 and in more recent years, asphalt works on critical routes such as the Pacific and New England Highways.
This manufacturing plant produces 140 tonnes of asphalt an hour and is home to Asphalt and Spray Seal Crews servicing Southwestern QLD. They have worked on the Warrego Highway upgrade project from Toowoomba to Oakey, and on various maintenance contracts for Toowoomba Regional Council and Transport & Main Roads.
The Welshpool site is home to WA’s asphalt manufacturing plant, Asphalt crew, Spray Seal crew, Lab Technician’s and in house maintenance crew. The team work together to service WA, both metropolitan and regional communities. In 2024 they completed the Tonkin Gap project. The team also did 111km of Spray Seal for Mount Holland Mine.
Over the last 5 years and to date, Boral have played a significant role in supplying and installing 600,000 tonnes of Asphalt for the Westgate Tunnel Project. This involves the reconstruction of the Westgate Freeway, two 4km underground tunnels and a bridge across the Maribyrnong River and elevated roadway along Footscray Rd.
