Boral cement is a critical element in Boral’s integrated supply chain, supplying both downstream operations and external customers. Boral is able to deliver up to 4 million tonnes of cement into the Australian marketplace per annum. Boral are working towards reducing carbon emissions by replacing 60% of fossil fuel in its cement manufacturing process with lower carbon alternative fuel.
This cement works produces more than 60% of cement products in NSW and the ACT and is located in the Southern Highlands. Operating with one kiln, limestone is blended with other materials, burning it at a high temperature to produce clinker.
Marulan, NSW
Located in the Marulan South area of the Southern Tablelands and is positioned atop a significant limestone deposit. Today's operations produce up to four million tonnes of limestone and 200,000 tonnes of clay/shale per year.
Geelong, VIC
A new cement storage and clinker grinding facility at a site adjacent to the Port of Geelong and is importing clinker and slag to supply to our customers and downstream operations in Victoria and Tasmania.
Tarong, QLD
A joint venture where we operate a fly ash processing facility at the Tarong Power Station, which sees us supply fly ash to our customers supporting our commitment to the circular economy and reducing our carbon footprint.
