Your next opportunity:

Based in Townsville, provide technical leadership and specialist expertise across quarry, pavement, concrete, asphalt and construction materials operations. Lead the development, optimisation, validation and commercialisation of quarry products, cement treated materials (CTB), pavement materials, aggregates and manufactured sands to meet customer, project and specification requirements.

Your day will involve:

  • Driving innovation through research, material investigations, laboratory testing, field trials and performance monitoring to improve product quality, durability and constructability.
  • Providing technical guidance on material selection, mix design development, specification compliance and engineering performance.
  • Ensuring compliance with Australian Standards, Transport and Main Roads (TMR) specifications, project requirements, NATA accreditation standards and company quality management systems.
  • Analysing laboratory, production and operational performance data to identify opportunities for quality improvement, process optimisation, cost reduction and operational efficiency.
  • Partnering with customers, consulting engineers, contractors, project stakeholders and internal teams to deliver innovative technical solutions.

What we are looking for:

  • Degree, Diploma or equivalent industry experience in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, Geology, Construction Materials, Construction Management or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in quarrying, construction materials, pavement engineering, concrete, asphalt or related heavy construction industries.
  • Demonstrated experience in technical leadership, product development and quality management within a quarrying or construction materials environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Australian Standards, TMR specifications, Austroads requirements and quality assurance systems.
  • Experience in NATA-accredited laboratory environments and ISO 17025 quality systems.
  • Proven experience in material testing, data analysis, technical investigations and performance evaluation.
  • Demonstrated expertise in aggregates, manufactured sands, roadbase, pavement materials, CTB, stabilised materials and quarry products.
