As part of our Capital Projects team, you'll play a key role in delivering major electrical engineering projects that support some of Australia's most important manufacturing assets, while helping drive our transition to lower-carbon cement production.

We're looking for a proactive and technically capable Electrical Engineer to join our team at Berrima Cement Works. Reporting to the Principal Electrical Engineer, you'll contribute to the development and delivery of projects valued up to $100 million annually, working alongside multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, reliable and innovative engineering solutions.

This is a varied and career defining opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer who enjoys solving complex challenges, managing projects from concept through to execution, and making a tangible impact on a large-scale industrial operation.

Your day will involve:

  • Facilitate electrical design activities across studies and capital projects, ensuring compliance with safety, quality and engineering standards.
  • Develop and review plant layouts, single-line diagrams, schematics, cable schedules and equipment specifications.
  • Review and approve contractor engineering designs and technical documentation.
  • Prepare project scopes, cost estimates, schedules and supporting project documentation.
  • Support project delivery from planning through to commissioning and handover.
  • Supervise contractors and ensure works are completed safely and effectively on site.
  • Collaborate with project, mechanical and structural engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Evaluate suppliers, prepare tender documentation and provide technical assessments of bids.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, research and process optimisation projects.

What are we looking for?

  • Electrical Engineering Degree or demonstrated experience in the manufacturing, cement or mining industry.
  • Basic knowledge of process equipment, material handling systems and operating conditions.
  • Some experience in design of industrial investment projects with the ability to develop scope of works, single line diagrams and develop test plans. 
  • Experience in electrical estimating (labour and equipment costs).
  • Experience with PLCs/SCADA.
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills with the ability to work autonomously and drive outcomes.
