Lab Technician

Based in Deer Park, we are looking for a Construction Materials Technician to join our Asphalt Team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, we are seeking a responsible and driven individual that can work independently in this role, undertaking tasks in relation to sampling, testing, training, supervising, maintenance of records, and reporting results for our Asphalt-related products. This role will be performed from both a production manufacturing-based laboratory, and from asphalt laying project sites.

Flexibility to work shift work including night shifts is required.

The main responsibilities include:

• Conduct testing in accordance with laboratory work instructions, test methods, preparation instructions and manuals.
• Conduct sampling of asphalt samples on site alongside our Asphalt crews
• Maintain, observe, and take part in the statutory safety requirements of the Laboratory operations  
• Prescribed calibrations and checks of laboratory test equipment.
• Maintain, observe, and participate in the statutory Safety requirements of the Laboratory. 
• Maintenance of the Laboratory NATA accreditation requirements.
