Career building opportunity for a Payroll Officer to manage end to end weekly payroll processing of our large-scale Enterprise Agreement covered staff payroll. Reporting to the Payroll Team Leader - Operations, this important team role is suited to an individual with a proactive approach, high customer service focus and in-depth knowledge of relevant awards as well as all payroll legislative requirements.

Your day will involve:

  • Payroll processing and maintenance of a weekly wages pay run.
  • Act as an initial point of contact for all Payroll related calls and queries, ensuring all issues raised are resolved within agreed timeframes.
  • Management of staff transfers between businesses, effective completion of the Masterfile maintenance, management of terminations and accurate maintenance of timesheet entry into the Chris21 system via Kronos, Kiosk or any other time and attendance processes.
  • Accurate checking and reconciliation of weekly and monthly payrolls as specified in the payroll checklists and procedures.
  • Prepare employee personnel files and records.
  • Conduct all payroll related activities in a timely manner conforming to all ethical, internal policies and legislative guidelines, ensuring segregation of duties protocol is followed.

What are we looking for?

  • Demonstrated payroll experience within a large, EA based, multi-site business
  • Any exposure to processing for Construction Industry payrolls will be highly regarded
  • Knowledge of and experience with Chris21 and Kronos is preferred however we are open to any experience with other mainstream payroll systems
  • Knowledge of, or experience with, processing payrolls and pay runs for national, multi-site business, for wages employees.
  • Experience with diverse business lines, complex EA arrangements and high volume, fast paced payrolls.
