Project Engineer

As a Project Engineer in Boral’s Assets and Capital Projects team, you will support the delivery of Boral’s Cement Silo Upgrade Program, providing engineering and project delivery capability across several concurrent projects. Working with the Capital Projects team, the role will assist with progressing design development, coordinating technical inputs, project management processes and managing contractors.
Providing hands on support during planning and execution, the Project Engineer will ensure all works are undertaken safely and to strict compliance and quality standards. This is a broad, delivery focused role suited to an individual comfortable working across technical, delivery and commercial functions, while also managing competing priorities, engaging effectively with stakeholders and supporting the Project Manager to ensure safe and efficient project outcomes. This is a 12 month fixed term contract based in North Ryde but will require some travel to site locations.
Your day will involve:
- Coordinating and supporting multi-disciplinary activities across several concurrent projects from development through execution, commissioning and closeout.
- Developing scopes of work, project plans and engineering deliverables while integrating technical inputs from internal teams and external vendors.
- Supporting procurement across multiple work packages, including preparation of technical documents, evaluating proposals and managing suppliers.
- Monitoring schedules, costs, risk and interfaces, escalating issues early and supporting effective project governance.
- Providing hands on delivery support, coordinating contractors, QA/QC processes, site supervision and developing practical engineering solutions to support construction and commissioning.
- Develop and implement project QA/QC documentation and processes, including Inspection and Test Plans, quality records and site verification checks, and coordinate the collection of technical information, drawings and quality deliverables to ensure robust and complete documentation at project close out.
What are we looking for?
- Demonstrated experience in delivering engineering or construction projects within heavy industry, mining, manufacturing or related sectors
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Project Management, or trade qualifications supported by significant and relevant industry experience
- Demonstrated experience coordinating technical inputs, managing contractors and supporting project delivery from design through commissioning
- Strong organisational discipline with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple projects and work fronts.
