Due to continued growth across our business, we now have a great opportunity available for an experienced Plant Fitter to join our high performing team in Townsville, Queensland.

Your primary responsibility in this role will be to manage and carry out repairs and maintenance of our mobile assets and assist when needed on the asphalt plant. This role will require you to be available to work varied shifts, including nights and weekends and be available to travel to other depots across the Queensland region to support operational requirements.

Your day will involve:

  • Working independently, consulting with Asset and Production teams on prioritization of tasks
  • Ensure that the mobile assets complies with relevant safety standards
  • Ensure equipment is maintained to the highest possible standard for operational purposes and to allow the business to meet objectives
  • Complete programmed maintenance tasks
  • Ensure all relevant permits and safety paperwork is in place before commencement of tasks
  • Contractor & labour supervision onsite
  • Complete daily plant inspections
  • Monitoring plant equipment for any defects
  • Available to participate in plant shutdown programs

What are we looking for?

  • Trade Qualified Fitter
  • Previous maintenance fitter experience in a mobile / fixed plant environment
  • Strong welding and fabrication skills and knowledge
  • Experience replacing motors, gear boxes and bearings
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong commitment to all areas of safety
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Enjoy developing and maintaining strong working relationships
  • Available to work across day and night shifts as required
